WHO WE SERVE

DEMOGRAPHICS

The towns of Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Entiat, Malaga, Rock Island, Monitor and Cashmere, make up the Greater Wenatchee Area. The population of this area is approximately 70,000 people. It is one of the leading fruit growing areas in the nation. Habitat has been able to provide housing for many families currently living in substandard housing who qualify under Habitat for Humanity family selection guidelines.

The housing conditions in south Wenatchee have been targeted by the city and by Habitat for Humanity as an area that is in great need of improvement. It is a multi-cultural, low-income area. Habitat has built twenty-six of its twenty-seven new homes in south Wenatchee.

In the fall of 2004 we began the first of two homes on South Larch Street in Douglas County.
