PROJECTS BUILT
A
"construction hot line" is activated during construction. Anyone
interested in volunteering can call our office at 509-663-1889 to
receive updated construction information. In 2004 the Wenatchee
Rotary club fully sponsored the building of a home, which was
dedicated on June 27th. Area churches have joined together to
support and build a "Nehemiah" house which is currently under
construction at 733 Walker Street.
Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee Area held "special
builds" in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004. In 1999, the First
United Methodist Church built a "Blitz" house. This is a type of
construction where an entire church congregation builds a Habitat
house in one week. In the summer of 2000, seven local churches built
a "Nehemiah" house in approximately six weeks. Each church w as
responsible for one phase of construction of the Habitat house. For
example, one church was responsible for the framing of the home and
another church, the roofing. Many churches funded their phase as
well. In 2001, the First United Methodist Church and St. Joseph's
Catholic Church combined their efforts to build another Blitz home;
and five Lutheran churches came together to build a "Nehemiah"
house. In 2003 a "Women Build" was completed by a group of
dedicated, hard working local women.
The Zamora de Medrano family are proud home owners in their recently
completed "Rotary Built" Walker Street home.
A Thrivent build was completed in 2009.
Our current home is being built on Honeysett in Wenatchee.
OUR "BLITZ HOME"
In October of 2005 we built a home in 10
