Family Selection ProcessThe road to affordable homeownership begins with Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Wenatchee Area’s Family Selection Process.
Habitat accepts homeownership applications throughout the year. Applicants are reviewed based on program guidelines, housing need, ability to pay, and willingness to partner with Habitat. |
How Can I Qualify?
Applicants are selected based on three main areas of qualification:
Need for Housing
Habitat reviews the applicant’s current housing situation to determine whether the home is safe, decent, and adequate for the household. This includes looking at whether the current housing affects the health, safety, or well-being of household members.
Ability to Pay
Habitat homes are sold to qualified partner families through an affordable mortgage. Applicants must show they have enough income to make monthly housing payments on time and meet the financial responsibilities of homeownership.
Willingness to Partner
Applicants must be willing to participate in the Habitat homeownership program and complete all required steps. This may include working with a Family Mentor, attending meetings or education opportunities, participating in Habitat activities, and staying engaged throughout the process.
This partnership continues before, during, and after the home is completed.
